Heinrich von Mügeln (Müglin)

German poet and composer. Worked in Prague, Budapest and Vienna; wrote chronicles in Hungarian and an important allegorical poem, Der meide Kranz,and also made translations of the psalms. He devised a melodic formula (the'Langer Ton') of the Meistersingers, who regarded him as one of the fathers of their art; nine of his melodies survive.
