Italian composer, from Teramo in S. Italy,
who may be the 'Zacharias' of the Old Hall MS. All but one of
his ten surviving secular pieces are ballate; he had a liking
for unusual texts with a mixture of languages and bizarre, even
Satanic, overtones. His Rosetta was extremely popular both as
the basis for parody Mass movements by himself and others and
in highly ornamented keyboard arrangements.
