In 1387 he completed his great epic poem, the Chronique de Bertrand de Guesclin.His three balladesin the Chantilly MS are rhythmically extremely complex; two of them also use canon. In his ballade on Gaston Fébus the Prince's heraldic device appears as Noëma in the refrain.
