Franco-Flemish composer. Court Kapellmeisterat Dresden from 1554 to 1568, and published sacred and secular songs and Protestant church music. Hermann Finck thought him one of the best composers of the time, but his style remained generally conservative. He may have been the 'Mathess Nidlender' who was working at the Munich court in 1552.<
