Franco-Flemish composer, A singer at the French court from 1507, he was maître de chapelle there from 1517 to 1523. Petrucci published some of his motets in 1519, and a Passion attributed to him survives in MS at Rome. It is polyphonic throughout, based on chant formulas used in Holy Week, and is one of the first through-composed Passions, though setting not one complete Gospel narrative but extracts from all four Gospels.
