Italian composer, born in Naples. A student of Giovanni de Macque; lutenist in the service of Don Fabrizio Gesualdo; from 1591 lutenist and later also organist in the Spanish viceregal chapel in Naples. His works, most written between 1600 and 1607, include fourteen books of madrigals and villanelle, a few laude, and several books of motets and other sacred vocal music.
