French poet and musician; organist, music
teacher and Catholic priest. Lived in Langres from 1534 to 1537,
and was a friend of the poet Marot. In 1537 he became a
Protestant, fleeing to Geneva and studying theology in Lucerne
before becoming a Reformed pastor. In 1546 he published his
Chrestienne Resiouyssance
--160 sacred contrafacta of secular song texts (the music does
not survive).
