Mikolaj z Krakowa (Nicholas of Kraków)

Polish composer. His name appears in the archives of Kraków university for 1488, and he may have been organist at the court there. His dances, preludes and transcriptions of songs and sacred pieces are preserved in Polish organ tablatures, including the Lublin tablature, dating from the period 1526-48. His well-known song Alee nade mna Wenus is sometimes referred to as a Polish madrigal.
