Sebastian Ochsenkuhn

(1521 - 1574)

German lutenist. The son of a barber-cum-instrument maker, he served at the court of the Elector Palatine (1534-71), at Neuburg an der Donau and later at Heidelberg. His 1558 tablature contains some of the very few examples of German Lieder transcribed for voice and lute rather than lute solo.
