Ercole Pasquini

(mid-16th century - between 1608 and 1619)

Italian composer, born in Ferrara. He studied with Alessandro Milleville. moved to Rome in 1597, and was appointed organist of the Cappella Giulia at St. Peter's (1597-1608) and the Santo Spirito in Saxia (1604). Pasquini's keyboard works (all in manuscript) include toccatas, canzonas, and the earliest known examples of correntes in Italy.
