Paolo Agostini

(c.1583 - 1629)


Italian composer. A pupil and son-in-law of Giovanni Bernardino Nanino, he was in 1627 appointed maestro di cappella at St Peter's, having previously held similar posts in other Roman churches. His published church music includes five volumes of Masses; a Massà 48 for Pope Urban VIII and other works for up to eight choirs survive in manuscript.
