Annibale Zoilo

(c1537 - 1592)

Italian composer. Worked as maestro di cappella at S. Luigi dei Francesi, at the German College in Rome, and at Todi cathedral, before becoming maestro at the Santa Casa in Loreto in 1584; he was also for a time a papal singer, and it was during this period, in 1577, that he and Palestrina began work on a revised edition of the Graduale, which was never finished. He published a volume of madrigals, and more of his music survives in anthologies and manuscripts.
