Erasmus Lapicida

(?late 15th Century - 1547)

Possibly a German composer. He may have been at the Heidelberg court around 1510, and later had German Lieder published by Rhaw and Forster. On the other hand Italian sources (e.g. prints by Petrucci) include frottolas and Lamentations by a composer of this name. He dedicated a motet to the King (Ferdinand I) in 1536, and in 1545 revealed to him that he was a 'poor, old, sick priest'.
