Melchor Robledo

Spanish composer. Maestro de capilla at Tarragona cathedral in 1549, and then spent a period as a Papal singer in Rome before becoming maestro at the Seo cathedral in Saragossa in 1569. His contemporary reputation was such that his was the only music allowed to be performed alongside that of Josquin , Victoria , Morales and Palestrina in the Pilar cathedral at Saragossa. His Masses, motets, Lamentations and other sacred works survive in manuscript.
