Spanish composer of Franco-Flemish origin. In 1476 the Duke of Alba paid him to teach three African boys to sing, and from 1477 to 1481 he was maestro de capilla to Ferdinand V of Aragon. His 4-part arrangement of the Mozarabic Pange lingu aand 3-part setting of the villancico Nunca fué pena mayor (from the Cancionero de Palacio ) were very popular, and frequently used as the basis of works by other composers.
