Sebastián de Vivanco

Spanish Composer. He served as maestro de capilla at Segovia, Avila (his birthplace), and Salamanca cathedrals following his 1576 dismissal from a similar post at Lérida Cathedral; in 1603 he was appointed a professor of music at Salamanca University. One of the leading composers of his day; his sacred music includes the Liber magnificarum (Salamanca, 1607), ten Masses 1608), and thirty-six motets (1610).
