Daniell Batchelar (Batchellor)

(c.1574 -- after 1618)

English composer and lutenist. In service to Queen Anne (James I) 1605-18. Appointed Groom of the Privy Chamber 1615. He was represented in Varietie of Lute Lessons,a collection of lute pieces published in 1610 by Robert Dowland with his father John Dowland, and in Robert's A Musicall Banquet, published in the same year by To Plead My Faith, the only song written by him that survives. Other works survive only in MS.

The titles of some of his works suggest a connection with the Sidney and Walsingham families.
