English musician, organist and madrigalist. Organist of Norwich Cathedral 1599-1608. Singing man of Norwich Cathedral from 1608. Composed With wreaths of rose and laurel, included in Morley's The Triumphes of Oriana (1601). The extant works of William Cobbold form an interesting corpus of late-Elizabethan domestic music, consisting almost entirely of five-part consort songs for solo voice and viols.
