English lutenist and composer. He was appointed lutenist to Elizabeth I on June 24, 1598. to fill the post made vacant by the death of John Johnson (after a lapse of four years). The Royal Household accounts record only one payment to him (on June 7, 1599), and it is not known whether he died or retired, but no further payment to him is recorded.
