Thomas Robinson

(fl. 1589-1610)<

English composer and lutenist, best known as the author of the School of Musick(1603), a tutor for lute, orpharion, bandora and bass viol, which was based on a method of LeRoy published in Paris in 1567: J. Alford's A Briefe and Easy Instruction(London 1568).

He was at one time in the service of the Earl of Exeter, and may have visited Denmark where he was tutor to Princess Anne, later wife of James I.
