Thomas Woodson (Woodison Wooddeson)

English composer. Vicar-choral of St. Paul's Cathedral 1574 -1582. Gentleman of the Chapel Royal 1582-1605. 'Forty Wayes of 2 pts. in one' is found in a British Museum MS, canonic settings of Miserere. Only twenty are in fact written down. Thomas Tomkins wrote in the MS: 'the rest of these wayes are prickt in my morleys Introduction'; but they are not to be found in his copy of Morley's Plaine and Easy Introduction to Musickenow in the Oxford, Magdalen College Library.
