Italian organist and composer. After studying with Willaert in Venice he visited Florence, Brescia, Padua and Verona, where he was popular as poet and courtier as well as musician, before becoming organist at St Mark's, Venice, in 1551. Here he joined Annibale Padovano in performing works for two organs; his principal gift was for improvisation, and only three of his organ pieces survive, but he also published madrigals that show him to be a disciple of Willaert.
