Italian composer. From ca.1589 he held various posts as maestro di cappella,including that at the German College in Rome (1592-1602); in 1603 he succeeded Marenzio as Kapellmeisterto the brilliant Polish court in Warsaw. He published motets and psalms in up to twenty parts, many in the polychoral Venetian style.
