Nicola Fago

Italian composer. He studied at the Conservatorio della Pietà dei Turchini in Naples, 1693-97; he was primo maestro there, 1705-40, and at S. Onofrio, 1704-8; served also as maestro di cappellaat the Tesoro di S. Gennaro of Naples Cathedral, 1709-31, where his son succeeded him, and at S. Giacomo dei Spagnuoli from 1736 to his death. Works include several operas, secular cantatas and arias, and much sacred music.
