Johann Bach

(1604 –1673)




German organist and composer. Eldest son of Hans Bach, brother of Christoph and Heinrich. Organist at Schweinfurt, then at Suhl. In 1635 he was director of the "Raths-Musikanten" and is recorded in 1647 as the organist of the church at Erfurt. He left manuscript compositions of considerable merit.
