Carolus Hacquart

(c.1640 - 1701?)

Netherlands musician and composer. Hacquart was a much-praised player of viol, lute and organ, who also wrote Latin sacred works and, in 1678, the music for the first Netherlands opera.

The ten trios and quartet sonatas in Harmonia Parnassia of 1686 are the most important works in his ouevre.
