Italian violinist and composer. A student of Arcangelo Corelli, he settled in London in 1719 at the invitation of the Earl of Rutland to enter his service. Later he was concertmaster of Handel's Opera Orchestra. Carbonelli left one collection, his only work that has survived, 12 violin sonatas with continuo entitled: 12 assolo per violino e basso, which follows the style of Corelli. The collection is dedicated to his patron, the Earl of Rutland.
Later he abandoned his artistic career and became a merchant of French and German wines under a Royal Warrant.
