Riccardo Broschi

(ca. 1698 - 1756)

Italian composer, brother of Farinelli (Carlo Broschi). He was active by 1725 in Naples, where his only comic opera was given. In 1728-35 he wrote at least six heroic operas, in some of which his brother sang. He served briefly at the Stuttgart court (1736-7), then returned to Naples before joining his brother in Madrid.
