Jean Caulery

(mid sixteenth century)

French composer. His only known position was that of ma&icorc;tre de chapelle to Catherine de Médicis in Bruxelles in 1556. Between 1552 and 1556, he published six secular chansons and eleven sacred chansons on texts by Clément Marot, Eustorg de Beaulieu and Théodore de Bèze (3 pieces), in a polyphonic style for four voices typical of northern France.
