Benedict Browne 2

(fl. 1573 - 1603)

English musician. Appointed trumpeter in the Royal Household in 1573, replacing John Warren. In 1593 he became serjeant-trumpeter replacing the deceased John Hall. In 1603 he is recorded as one of the trumpeters sent to accompany the King on his journey from Scotland. It seems probable tha he was related to Benedict Browne 1, possibly his grandson or, less likely, his son.
