English musician. Recorded as a royal trumpeter in 1582. He is not identical with Thomas Browne 2, a viol player, Thomas Browne, a singingman, or Thomas Browne 4, a trumpeter who died in 1567. It is possible that he was related to Benedict Browne 2, the serjeant-trumpeter during the years of his service.
