Italian composer. Violin pupil of Gaibara; founding member of the Accademia filarmonica in 1666; violinist at S. Petronio, for a time alongside Torelli , retiring with full pay in 1706; performed elsewhere in Bologna and played concerts throughout Italy. Sonatas and concertos of his were published, though only the sonatas survive. Many other members of the Laurenti family contributed to Italian music in the Baroque era.
