Jhan Maistre (real nameJean le Mi(s)tre)

French composer. Sang in Alfonso d'Este's chapel at Ferrara from 1512 and ultimately became director of music to Ercole II d'Este in 1541. (He is not to be confused with Jean le Cocq, another French singer, nor with Mattheus Le Maistre, a Franco-Flemish composer, Nasco or Gero.)
